Who Wants to Buy a Fabulous Chicken Chair??

Ahhhhh Chicken Chair.  You've had a long and not-so-successful run at our house, with all of your failings documented here on our family blog.

And so, for the past few months since the last update, Chicken Chair has resided in the corner of Noah's monster room, completely ignored and neglected.

About 2 months ago, I finally brought Chicken Chair downstairs to give away.  *sniff sniff*  However, Chicken Chair never quite made it out the door (I was still distressed that it wasn't the most wonderful thing ever to my kids because it's soooo stinkin' CUTE!) and indeed, it seemed that bringing it downstairs into our hotbed-of-activity-living-room revived interest in it!  The kids even fought over it!  My Mommy heart was happy! (And the fact that it totally does NOT match our decor didn't even bother me anymore!)

Here's Noah enjoying Chicken Chair.  And Shelby NOT enjoying Noah enjoying it.

Shelby taking matters into her own hands.

Shelby enjoying Chicken Chair.  And Noah NOT enjoying sitting on the couch.

Chicken Chair enjoyed a prestigious run as our preferred video-gaming seat.  Even if it was upside down flat on its face.

Chicken Chair was even used for stunt practice.  Ordinarily I would have balked at the thought of beautiful Chicken Chair being treated in such a manner (remember from the first entry that this was a stupidly expensive item).  But by now, 2 1/2 years later, I was just grateful it was being used again.

Shelby, when she is older, will most certainly hate me for putting this photo on here.  But I must, because I love it so.  And it cracks me up every time I see it.

This one cracks me up, too.  I have no idea what stunts she and Noah were trying to accomplish.  I was just ecstatic that Chicken Chair was their soft place to fall.

And then, after a glorious but all-too-brief run, Chicken Chair was again ignored and neglected.  Look at it, all sadly crumpled up there, while Noah has now moved onto the much more UNcomfortable ottoman for TV viewing.  Why????  (And don't ask about his hat because I don't know.  Noah makes….interesting….fashion choices.)

Our dog Tiki was VERY happy to take over the now-free-and-never-in-demand Chicken Chair.

I can't blame Tiki, seeing as how her dog bed looked like this.  HEY, no judging!  That was the THIRD supposedly indestructible wears-like-iron dog bed that she actually HAS destructed.

*sigh*  Despite Tiki's love for it, Chicken Chair was once again designated as a give-away-soon item.

And then, a fabulous opportunity presented itself!  A friend of mine is raising funds for a service dog for her son with autism, and is holding a garage sale this Saturday, and Chicken Chair will be there!  No, NOT as a celebrity guest, but FOR SALE!  For more information, click here: https://sites.google.com/site/alec4paws/

And Tiki will be fine, since she now sits on whatever stuffed animals the kids bring downstairs.  Oh, and since that pathetic photo above, she is now on her fourth supposedly indestructible dog bed.  Tiki will be fine, folks.

Now, even though it took me 2 1/2 years to admit it and accept it, Chicken Chair is finally moving on to its inevitable destiny - to be in a garage sale.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  But hey, it's for a GREAT cause!  So, who wants to come out and give poor Chicken Chair a new lease on life??

Farewell, Chicken Chair.  I loved you, even though no one else did.

  1. Oh Estelle- you make me so happy! I just read through your last few posts and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Wish my girls could have been at the tea party. They would have been in heaven. Goodbye Chicken chair! (I must admit I kind of like it, too)
